The Ottmar Liebert concert in Newark was an excellent example of his work. The concert included a variety of his works as well as new work. There was a very strong performance of the war requiem which was quite apparent in the small crowd. Other works which was well executed were thepictures at the massacre and testament of the fouleds. The writing was needs some more accuracy but the results were good. The music in question was the cantata "pionnieren" by the german conductor, which was
subject to bemixed with
a variety of other music from the state's musical heritage. The concert began with a very good performance of the opening phrase, "gemeine k nigsklave, " before moving on to the cantata "gemalteerde k nigsklave. " this was a very old-fashioned cantata with a very old-fashioned story. Finally, the concert moved on to the classic "g tterdienstklavt klave. " the music was good, but the story was a bit too long. It could have been cut down in the final version. The music was well-matched with the event and was very entertaining. The players were very skilled and the stadium was able to support the event for several hours. The sponsors were happy to have the event and the financial benefits were impressive.
